The Assist Trophy is an item introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where the character could summon a random character to assist him or her in battle. They have returned in Smash Bros. Mania.
Default Assist Trophies[]
- Toad (Mario series): Toad appears next to a treasure chest. He then takes a key and opens it, and out flies random items from the Mario series (Mushrooms, shells, etc.)
- Cranky Kong (Donkey Kong series): Cranky Kong is very similar to Mr. Resetti from Brawl, except he doesn't last as long (thank god). Cranky also goes on about "the good ol' days", making refferences to the first three Donkey Kong Country games, and even the original Super Smash Bros. on the N64.
- Saria (Legend of Zelda series): After Saria appears, she pulls out an Ocarina, and plays a melody that reaches a short range. If any opponents get too close to her while she is playing, they will fall asleep, leaving him/her open to be attacked.
- Palutena (Kid Icarus series): Palutena appears in the background, and, much like Pit's final smash in SSBB, she summons an army that will dash toward opponents and damage them. She is a very rare assist trophy.
- R.O.B. (Gyromite series): R.O.B. scans the battlefield, then picks up a bucket of mines and tosses them around the stage, which damage anyone, even the summoner!
- Knuckles (Sonic the Hedgehog series): Knuckles will appear and say "You ready for this?" He then holds up his fist, which glows green, and slams it into the ground, which creates a green shockwave that damages anyone hit by it. He then says "See ya later." before disappearing.
- Mii (Nintendo Wii series): The basic red-shirted Mii appears, and then blows into a whistle, summoning Miis that you have created in the Mii Channel to stampede through the stage and damage anyone they hit.
Locked Assist Trophies[]
- Rosalina (Mario series): After Rosalina appears, she waves her wand, and a horde of starbits start falling onto the stage, which damage anyone they hit. She is unlocked by clearing Classic Mode with Peach on any difficulty.
- Kamek (Yoshi series): Kamek will fly to the middle of the stage and cast a spell. The spell will either burn opponents, summon a rare item, or damage everyone on screen, even the summoner! He is unlocked by clearing Event #10.
- Duck Hunt (Duck Hunt series): The 8-bit dog appears and then jumps behind a bush. Many ducks then start to fly all over the stage, damaging any opponent they hit. Before ending, the dog laughs, and then disappears. It is unlocked by playing 56 battles.
- Adeline (Kirby series): Adeline appears with her easel. She will then either draw an M Tomato and give it to the player, a random Kirby series enemy to attack and opponent, or on rare occasions, a Smash Ball from SSBB, which will instantly give the player a full special attack bar. She is unlocked by obtaining trophies of all playable Kirby characters.
- Palutena (Kid Icarus series): Palutena appears in the background of the stage, and she summons her guards to attack opponents. This is very similar to Pit's Final Smash in Brawl. She is unlocked by playing as Pit 15 times.
- Barbara (Rayman series): Barbara holds up her axe and runs toward and opponent, slashing it around like crazy, similar to Samurai Goroh in SSBB. She is unlocked by clearing Classic Mode with Rayman on normal difficulty or higher.
Downloadable Assist Trophies[]
- Lightning Rod (Skylanders series): Lightning Rod shouts his official catchphrase, "One strike and you're out!", and then casts his Grand Lightning attack multiple times onto the stage, damaging any opponent he strikes. Comes with the Skylanders DLC pack.
- Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (Epic Mickey series): Oswald holds out his remote and presses the button on it, which summos his little robots. His robots will either attack opponents, blow up, or pick up items and bring them to the summoner. Comes with the Epic Mickey DLC pack.
- Lily (Scribblenauts series): Lilly appears in the background and uses her globe to either teleport the summoner to a safer location, or an opponent to a more dangerous one. Comes with the Scribblenauts DLC pack.
