Snake Codec Message[]

Colonel:"Careful, Snake! That's the great and terrible Bowser"!

Snake:"Bowser? Looks like a cheap movie monster."

Colonel:"Hardly. Bowser leads an entire army of monsters. But I'd worry more about his claws and fire if I were you."

Snake:"Doesn't look that tough to me. Seems kind of slow, actually."

Colonel:"Well, he is the king of Koopas. It's only natural he'd be slow. But that's only because he's the heaviest fighter here--by far. He's a powerhouse of destruction. Careful he doesn't flatten you."

Fighting against Bowser[]

There's only one thing to focus on when fighting against Bowser: stay away from him and he's virtually harmless. Bowser has no true projectile attack, and even his Fire Breath has limited range if it's used too long. All his power is harmless if you use a hit-and-run strategy of attacking(the "Smash-n-Dash"), then rolling or dashing back to safety. If he closes the distance, roll to his opposite side or jump out of the way to create space between you both.

Trivia[]

  • Many people believe that the Koopas are based on turtles. However, they are in reality based on a mythical Japanese water demon called a Kappa. While the descriptions vary from area to area, many legends describe them as having turtle-shells.
  • Other characteristics that Bowser shares with no other Koopa (except his son, Bowser jr.) seem to be based on the famous kaiju Anguirus. Other Nintendo characters who seem to be based on this monster are Giga Bowser, Bowser Jr. and the fourth generation pokemon, Rhyperior.
